Ms. Thomason has a rich beautiful Italianate soprano voice. A native of Oregon, Ms. Thomason’s recent performances  include Isabelle/Madeline in The Face on the Barroom Floor with Opera Las Vegas in February, 2009 and Flora/Violetta cover  in La Traviata with Nevada Opera Theatre, in March. In April, Ms. Thomason was soloist in Tan Dun’s Water Passion after St. Matthew at Libby Gardner Concert Hall, in Salt Lake City.  Ms. Thomason recently sang Adina in L’elisir d’Amore with Opera Las Vegas in March 2010.

Last Season, she appeared in a Gala Concert with Nevada Opera Theatre, and in Dvorak’s Requiem at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She also sang in Schoenberg’s 2nd St. Quartet as part of the Intermezzo Chamber Music Series, and in Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass with Salt Lake Choral Arts.

Other recent appearances include: soprano soloist in Haydn’s Creation and John Rutter’s Mass of the Children under the baton of Brady Allred, and Giulia in Gilbert & Sullivan’s Gondoliers with Utah Opera. Ms. Thomason’s ventures into new music include singing Yehudi Wyner’s song cycle On This Most Voluptuous Night with Canyonlands New Music Ensemble  as well as premiers of new works by Sam Richards and Marie Grudzien. She was in the Berkshire Opera Company Resident Artist Program, where she sang Gretel in Hänsel & Gretel. 

Ms. Thomason received her M.M. in Vocal Performance from the University of Utah. Other performance highlights include premiering a new work by Moldovan composer Igor Iachimciuc; Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at the University of Utah; Soloist, Valeri Kikta’s La Luce delle Tacite Stelle with the Utah Harp Ensemble; Soloist, Brian Crosby’s Oratorio on the Life of Christ; Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro with Paradigm Chamber Orchestra; Soloist in the Mozart Requiem at the University of Utah; Gabriella in La Rondine with Utah Opera; Musetta in La Bohème with Sandy City Symphony; Poppea in L’incoronazione di Poppea at La Musica Lirica; Rose in Street Scene and soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at the University of Utah.

Alisa Thomason was a finalist in the Rocky Mountain Region of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions Alisa is fluent in Italian, and enjoys tennis, running, and the outdoors.
